Steadily multi-function products are gaining the human interest in today’s market. Computer has become the most widely used tool to handle office works; handheld notebooks are now more widely used than the desktop counterpart. These add more diversified choices of office computers. That leads more varieties of multi-function notebooks to be developed. Then the question arises, what kind of functionalities or criteria should be given the most attention for evaluating the customers’ choice behavior? This paper proposes to use the rough sets and logit model to conduct the evaluation of the preference of the Multi-Function Notebook Computers. The result will help making decision on what features to include in future development. The logit model can be used to find customer’s needs and customer’s preferences and to determine what kinds of criteria to study the preference. Finding the customer intended preference and then using this customer preference finds functionalities or features for future development and trend. And the rough sets method can be used in the market segmentation. The rough sets technique, used often in data mining, which can relax some conditions such as independence of attribute is used to. This study is to determine customer preference of combining features of some electronic products in Notebook. The features in study consist of four functions: (1) mobile phone, (2) digital camera, (3) PDA, and (4) improvement general notebook’s capability to integrate the Notebook. These four functions are divided into fourteen attributes. Then we use these fourteen attributes to find the customers preferences. These results can help the Notebook industry to understand what kinds of customer like what kinds of products. And according to the customer’s needs the future products can be developed.
