Summary:碩士 === 開南管理學院 === 航運與物流管理系碩士班 === 94 === There are several port and shipping information platforms been developed in Taiwan, named Trade Van, MT Net and the Gate Control System developed for Free Trade Zone. But none of them could provide one-stop-shopping service to meet the demand of their major customers in the port and shipping industry. The goal of this research is to analyze the differences between the demand and the supply. The first step is to interview senior managers who use the port and shipping information system and find out the items of service concerned. The second step is to study the port and shipping information systems developed in major Asian maritime countries, to find out the gap between Taiwan and these countries and further, learn from their experiences to gather all the service items provided. These items are examined by senior managers to design the questionnaire. More then 100 copies of the questionnaires are mailed to senior managers around Taiwan, and 31 copies are successfully collected. From the result analyzed from these questionnaires, the highly demand items by the industry are: 1. Real time information; 2. Quick update of the information in the platform; 3. Close cooperation with Custom to obtain up-to-date cargo status; 4. Full information of inland depots; 5. Broad logistics services should be provided in the platform; 5. Uniform shipping and logistics documentation and moreover, paperless information service; This research provides deep insight of the differences between the demand and supply of port and shipping information platform in Taiwan. The findings may help port and shipping information platform operator clear strategies to meet the demand of their customers.
