Questionnaire survey was administered to 26 hospitality and recreation industries in Taiwan. 81 matched line manager-intern pairs that include 146 line mangers and 312 interns as participants. 3 line mangers and 12 interns accept the qualitative interview. A series of paired sample t-tests was performed that revealed significant differences between the two group on perception of organizational support and line manager’s coaching behaviors, but no significant differences on job performance. T-test and one-way analysis of variance was performed for each demographic variable serving as the independent variable and the results were partially statistical significant differences for these variables. Furthermore, step multiple regression analysis indicted line managers’ coaching and training time show significant predictor of job performance, but perception of organizational support was not significant. LISREL model (Linear Structural Equations Model) results presented that job performance and job satisfaction were affect by perception of organization support and line managers’ coaching behavior. Qualitative analysis showed the similar perception in financial support and coaching methods such as: explanation, demonstration, take example, demand, monitor, revise, let go, invite, encourage, praise, scold, punishment and so on. But revealed the perception gap about adapted support and career support in organizational support and different frequencies in coaching methods using that line managers perceived more positive coaching methods used and interns perceived more negative coaching methods used.Discussion, recommendations for future research, implications for human resource development in hospitality and recreation sandwich placements are presented. wu-Chung Wu 吳武忠 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 254 zh-TW
