Shoes making machinery boosted along with this development, and its growing profile is even expanded to the global market. However, shoes making machinery industry in Taiwan has faced the two major strong competing powers outside Taiwan now, respectively are Europe and China. European countries are trying their best to upgrade the proficiency and efficiency on their machineries while China is urging on the involvement of this business. Taiwan is right in the conflicting and contradictory situation that we never encountered before. It is the time that Taiwan shoes making machinery industry brings about a strategy on how to maintain our core competence and on how to sustain the leading position that Taiwan has achieved now. The researcher collected data through a case study company by means of interviews. This research tended to make an exploration and survey of success factor and core capability of shoes making machinery industry in Taiwan by means of industry analysis and business resources orientation. This research has provided suggestions for the competitive advantage strategies of shoes making machinery industry in Taiwan from two different aspects as follows: 1. Shoes making machinery industry in Taiwan should focus on : (1) human resources training program;(2) enhancing the concepts on business operation;(3) upgrading equipments level of the supplied business and amplifying employees’ competency;(4) our continued economic expansion through increased trade and investment in Eastern Europe, South America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia;(5) establishment of an international-level exhibition center for attracting more businesses coming to Taiwan. 2. Shoes making machinery manufacturers should focus on: (1) the development on innoviation and R&D activities;(2) upgrading the design on controlling panel for differentiating individual products in the same trade;(3) marketing and sale competency;(4) training on holistic competency employees. In sum, “people” is the core resouce of a company, the major foundation which leads differences among enterprises. By knowledge sharing, we can expand personal ability into the organizational capacity and knowledge that forms a core competence of an enterprise and creates competitive advantages.
