Natural resources in Taiwan are limited, the economy of the foreign trade type is the direct bearing of survival and development. And in the foreign trading tie of Taiwan, the most disputed with the cross-Straits relations. Two sides began to exchange after Taiwan claimed to implement " to three basic principles of entrepot trade of the area of Hong Kong , Macao ". in 1985, after I opened continent articles and must be imported indirectly in June of 1989, the growth by a wide margin of two sides'' economy and trade interaction. Taiwan goes through the indirect control periods of 1989-1996 years during this time; 1996-2001, the policy that implemented " overcame impetuosity and exercise patience , walked and caused steadily far"; From 2001 to 2005 , recommend" positive and open managing effectively" policy , in to launch making politics economic interdynamic under two sides, have formed the situation in which " the hot twine of economy , politics are grave and stern".
Because of the political factor between two sides, and make the economic and trade question intricate, the economic and trade policy is swung with the axis both ends of " the national security" and " the development in economy " all the time for a long time. The study will analyze the development of cross-strait economic relations between 1989 and 2005 based on Interdependence Theory and putting emphasis with the cooperative visual angle each other.
