| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 輔導與諮商研究所 === 95 === The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the positive impact of the Marriage Encounter Program, on how a couple can improve their communication skills, leading to an improved quality of marriage life. The study, using the case-study method take the example of a middle aged married couple, and through in-depth interviews, close observation and analysis of their written self-reflection documents, shows how the Marriage Encounter Program led to 5 Positive Results on the married couples’ lives in how they communicated together.
(a) Realize the importance of respecting difference.
(b) The importance of building consensus.
(c) Change the way of communicating.
(d) Raise their sensitivity to the other.
(e) Renew their initial commitment and love.
The study also emphasizes the necessity of “Follow up” and group support in continuing to help the couple in their communication together and in their married life. It is the hope of this study that it will be of help in the area of Marriage Education and also lead further study in the area of married life.
