| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 統計研究所 === 94 === Due to the development of economy, as well as improvement of technology of transportation, the number of motor vehicles has increased rapidly, and traffic on the road becomes more complicated. The importance of road traffic safety cannot be emphasized more. This research uses the statistical data of the Road Traffic Accident from National Police Administration Ministry of the Interior in 2004. The article investigates the road environment and the party's state in the Fatal Traffic Accidents (the traffic accidents lead to the fact that people die on the spot or in 24 hours). On the other hand, it further utilizes several methods containing Chi-squared Test of Independence, Chi-Square Automatic Interaction Detection（CHAID）, Proportional Odds Model or Logistic Regression Model, and Multiple Correspondence Analysis, in order to understand the important factors that cause the injury degree of the trouble-making driver and the Heavy Severity Traffic Accident.
