Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 工業教育與技術學系 === 94 === The main purposes of this study were to investigate the work pressure of directors of general affairs at national senior high schools, to compare the work pressure differences among them, and to analyze their coping strategies. The study used questionnaires to collect data from 155 directors of general affairs at senior high schools, and descriptive statistics were performed to investigate and analyze the data. The results of this study were shown as follows: there were no significant differences in work pressure perceived among the directors of general affairs in the study. The work pressure in general reached a level of high intensity. The pressure came, in order of intensity, from the frustration encountered in administrative operation, professional knowledge and skills required of the position and the accompanying workload. Thus it was obvious that the professionalism, immense responsibility and the difficult role to play were the main reasons to the high turnover rate of the position of the director of general affairs at high schools. Therefore, the position is more suitable for senior teachers with administrative experience who are more able to take initiatives in solving problems, to deal with work pressure adequately, and to adopt effective coping strategies; such personality in turn benefits the actual operation of the administration of the general affairs on campus. The conclusions of this study, based on the literature review and the study findings, yielded suggestions to the authorities of education, the principals of the high schools and vocational high schools and the future researchers.
