The instruments used in this study include the Vocational Maturity Inventory (VMI) and self-developed Career Decision Making Questionnaire. The inventories and questionnaires were randomly sent to subject college students. Two thousand and fifty-five valid responses were collected and analyzed. According to analyses, significant factors of college students’ career decision making include parent social-economic status, work experience, learning experience, others’ influence, career information ability, and vocational maturity. The discovered path for career decision making probably begins with parent social-economic status. Parent status provides different social interactions, economic conditions and learning environments which create different work and learning experiences of college students. Based on social-economic environments, work and learning experiences, college students take others’ opinions into account and accumulate their career information ability which contributes to their vocational maturity and career orientation.
