Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 教育學系 === 94 === Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship among the parenting styles, attachment style and prosocial behavior of different parenting styles, attachment styles and prosocial behavior of elementary school children. The method of this study is questionnaire survey. The subjects of this study are 1142 five-graders (575 boys and 567 girls) from 37 classes in 17 Kaohsiung municipal elementary schools. The subjects are tested with the instruments including Basic Information Questionnaire, Parenting Style Scale, Parental Attachment Style Scale, and Questionnaire of Elementary School Children's Prosocial Behavior. The result of the investigation through classification, statistical procedures, discussion, and analysis, reveals the following findings: 1. Elementary school children’s prosocial behavior has much to do with gender differences. 2. Girl students outperform their boy counterparts in both their disposition and actual performance of prosocial behavior. 3. Having siblings or not makes a difference in the development of elementary school children’s prosocial behavior. 4. The development of prosocial behavior in elementary school children is related to family structure. Children from stem families have better prosocial behavior than single-parent children. 5. The family socio-economic status influences the development of elementary school children’s prosocial behavior. Children whose families enjoy higher socio-economic status have better performance of prosocial behavior. 6. Elementary school children’s prosocial behavior stems from family. Parenting style plays a key role in its development. 7. Attachment styles account for the performance of elementary school children’s prosocial behavior. Children with secure attachment styles show higher disposition as well as performance in prosocial behavior. 8. As far as children with different styles of attachment with mothers are concerned, their disposition in prosocial behavior is related to their family’s socio-economic status. 9. Different paternal parenting styles influence the performance of prosocial behavior of children with different paternal attachment styles. 10. School children’s background variables, parenting styles and attachment styles may serve as predictors of their prosocial behavior.
