Abstracts This research employs qualitative research as the major methodology . The related researches are based on the role consciousness、work stress and coping strategies of accountants at the elementary school in Pingtung county . On qualitative study,half structural formula interviews were proceeded to fourteen different background accountants at the elementary school in Pingtung county . According to the analysis results of interview writing sketches,the conclusions of the study are: 1.The accountants at elementary schools in Pingtung County have a high sense of role understanding. 2.The main role understanding of the accountants in Pingtung County are “professional role”、“in house communicator”、“faninacl capability inspector”and “staff members role”. 3.The most significant role consciousness of the teachers who are part-time accountants are “pecialty role” and “faninacl capability inspector role”. 4.Teachers who were part-time accountants identified with the importance of the “specialty role”,however,they have perceived that they are lacking professional knowledge . 5.The major sources of work pressure on accountants in Pingtung County come from “lacking professionals knowledge pressure” “work load pressure”,“role pressure”,“interpersonal relationships pressure”and “bosses requests pressure”. 6.Generally speaking,full-time accountants don't feel tight work pressure . To part-time accountants,however,the feeling of “lacking professionals” knowledge pressure is more obviously . 7.The main coping strategies of work pressure about accountants of elementary school are “looking for support” “reasonal thinking”and “resolving problems”.And the least is “stall or escape” strategies . 8.The strategy used most commonly among part-time accountants is “looking for support”. Based on the above findings, the study makes some suggestions for the accountants at elementary school、school administration、 government accounting department and future research that can be taken as the reference .
