According to the above purposes, this research would (1) discuss the current circumstances about KM gap and school effectiveness in elementary schools; (2) compare the different circumstances from the standpoint of KM gap and school effectiveness according to different background variance; (3) discuss the relevant situation in KM gap and school effectiveness of elementary schools; (4) form conclusion and suggestion from the result of this research. After the literature review, we can understand the meanings and related ideas of 「KM Gap」and 「School Effectiveness」. Next, we have a further understanding of KM gap and school effectiveness by the questionnaire and its product analysis. This research uses “the questionnaire in KM gap of elementary school and its effectiveness” which was edited by the author as the tool, and to use the public elementary school principals or directors of Kaohsiung city and county as the main body. 160 questionnaires were distributed to the elementary school principals or directors, with the return of 135 valid questionnaires. The data obtained from the questionnaire would use such as single factor variable analysis(One-Way ANOVA), Cronbach α, interclass correlation coefficient(ICC),etc. After statistics analysis about KM gap and school effectiveness, this research finds that KM gap really significantly influences school effectiveness. Thus, the researcher expects to interview with the principals and directors. The purpose of interviews is to find out how elementary schools are affected by KM gap and find the solutions After the statistic analysis, the researcher adds expert's interview to make conclusions and suggestions more certainty, and also more consistent with the practice of elementary schools.
