The Study on the Relationships of Job Stress, Leisure Coping Strategies, and Health to Managers in Travel Agent

碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 旅遊健康研究所 === 94 === This study tries to explore the relationship of job stress, leisure coping strategies and health status for the managers in the travel agent by conducting survey. In the study, we use four scales: they are Chinese version of job content questionnaire, leisure coping strategy scales, the duke health profile and demographic variables. The sample with our research included managers of the key agents to the China Airlines and EVA Air in Taipei, Taiwan. By the cut-off data for data collection, a total of 181 questionnaires had been retrieved. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) models are used to interpret the relationship of the above-mentioned latent variables. Results show that male and female are almost have the same percentage. The main age group is in the range of 30-49. As for position, most of the respondents are managers and assistant managers. The respondents around 60% are married. Their position tenures are most between 1-6 years and over 9 years. By t-test, ANOVA, and SEM analysis, we find out gender, age, position, and marital status have significant effects on job stress. Position tenure has a significant effect on leisure coping strategy. We find the link between job stress and health is positive, which is against hypothesis. We also find the link between leisure coping strategy and health is negative, and it’s not significant. As the concluding remarks, we suggest several future research issues for health promotion programs.
