The six times’ excavation handled 9 groups and 19 tombs of Jin dukes and their wives. The arrangement of these tombs was in good order, complete, and well-linked from one generation to the next generation. These discoveries and excavations were regarded as the unprecedented ones in the archaeological history of China. Besides the well-laid-out tombs, archaeologists were surprised by the magnificent unearthed cultural relics. They have provided very important materials for the studies of the culture of Western Zhou Dynasty and the nation of Jin. Newer development can be supplemented to the broken records of Western Zhou Dynasty. Ever since the discovery and excavation of the ancient tombs of Jin dukes, the scholars think that they are comparable to the discovery of oracles of the Yin ruins in Anyang in the early 20th century. The academic value of the discovery is obviously seen. This research paper mainly takes the inscription on the bronze sacrificial vessels found in the ancient tombs of Jin dukes at Beizhao as the research material. First of all, from the published periodicals and dissertations, this paper collects around 20 sacrificial vessels of Jin dukes found in the ancient tombs of Jin dukes at Beizhao. After that, over the foundation of the previous research explanations, this paper synthesizes the opinions of different scholars and studies the inscription, hoping to clarify the hereditary system of Jin dukes and offer supplementary information to any omission of the materials of history. The contents of the study are divided into 5 chapters, which are arranged as follows: Chapter 1 is the “preface,” which firstly defines the research materials of the paper. After that, it briefly describes the previous collection and discovery of the sacrificial vessels of Jin dukes, and then summarizes and reviews the related research results of the earlier researchers. Finally, it briefly explains the research direction of the paper, and indicates the research approach and limitations. Chapter 2, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 mainly focus on the investigation and explanation. Taking the around 20 unearthed sacrificial vessels of Jin dukes of their ancient toms as the research targets, these chapters concludes the research results made in recent years in chronological order. According to the forms, structures, explanation of the inscription and summarized interpretation of the inscription, the paper investigates the words on the inscription and traces their historical background. There are notes for the summarized interpretation. Towards the earlier researches, this paper makes judgment, chooses and follows what is good. A conservative attitude is still maintained towards the inscription which cannot be comprehended yet. It is hoped that a breakthrough can be achieved in future. Chapter 5 is the conclusion which synthesizes the above research results. Here, the historical importance of the inscription on the sacrificial vessels of Jin dukes is stressed, and the application and value of the sacrificial vessels of Jin dukes in the archeological history are investigated. This chapter also mentions the researcher’s personal suggestions on the issues and directions for putting more continuous efforts on in future. Chung-Wen Wang 汪中文 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 199 zh-TW |
