The study adopted the quasi-experimental design. Thirty-five subjects who were four to five years old came from a public kindergarten in Tainan City. These subjects were selected randomly into two groups: 17 in the experimental group and 18 in the control group. Five story books were used in this study. Each story was read to total groups first. While the control group was taught with traditional teaching methods, the experimental group received four experimental treatments through creative drama. The researcher provided twenty drama play lessons in fifteen weeks; each lesson was about forty minutes. Data were collected from“Children Oral Expression Ability Test” and a story comprehension test developed by the researcher. Each subject was tested individually. Before the experimental treatments, subjects received “Children Oral Expression Ability Test.” After the experimental treatments of every story book, the story comprehension test was given to the subjects. The next week, the post-test of “Children Oral Expression Ability Test” was used. The data was analyzed with one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and two-way analysis of variance(ANOVA).The major findings of research were as follows: 1. There was no significant difference between creative drama and children’s oral expression. 2. There was a significant difference between creative drama and children’s story comprehension. 3. Through creative drama, gender had no effects on children’s oral expression and story comprehension. The researcher presented discussion of research results and offered recommendations for teachers and future research. Mei-Chun Lin 林玫君 學位論文 ; thesis 141 zh-TW
