Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班 === 94 === The main purposes of this study were to understand the current situation of elementary gifted and talented students'' subcultures in school year 2005. Furthermore ,the researcher compares variances of students’ subculture between gifted classes regarding individual background (gender and classes), family background (social and economic status of family), and school background (region) in order to provide references in teaching and counseling for education workers. The instruments applied to this study include “Questionnaire of Students’ living in Elementary School” and “Interview Outline of Students’ Subculture in Elementary School.” The former is used to conduct a poll in order to proceed a quantitative analysis based on this poll.The later isused to undergo in-depth interviews in order to provide qualitative analysis accordingly.The content of this research consists of seven aspects. They are learning attitude, attitude toward school, attitude toward teacher, relationship, extracurricular activities, idol worship, and language pattern.According to the scores of 409 subjects in gifted and talented classes respectively shown in the Questionnaire of Students’ living in Elementary School in Elementary School in Tainan city and Tainan county, the researcher operated frequency distribution, descriptive statistic, T-test, one-way ANOVA, simple main effects tests and Scheffé method. Based on the response to the Interview Outline of Students’ Subculture in Elementary School of 8 subjects in gifted and talented classes respectively from elementary school located in Tainan city and Tainan county respectively, triangulation of data and constant comparative method are performed. The major findings are as follows: 1. Gifted and talented students showed positive learning attitudes. 2. Gifted and talented students showed positive interaction with school. 3. Gifted and talented students showed positive interaction with teachers. 4. Gifted and talented students valued their friendships. 5. Gifted and talented students preferred exciting after-school activities. 6. Gifted and talented students were not enthusiastic about pop culture icons. 7. Gifted and talented students didn''t have peculiar language pattern. 8. The differences in gifted and talented students subcultures were related to gender, family socioeconomic status, and the region of the school. The suggestions made based on the results of this study are hereby presented as a reference for educators and researchers.
