Thirty six grade male track athletes (Height 148.90±7.47cm; Weight 43.43±8.38cm), whose vertical jump were higher than 30cm, were assigned (by S shape) into a 10cm training group, 20cm training group, and control group. The training groups underwent 10cm and 20cm plyometric training along with their regularly scheduled track training, while the control group received only the regular track training. The pre and post-training performance of vertical jump, standing long jump, and 30 meter sprint were recorded. One Way ANCOVA Analysis was conducted on the compiled data to compare the effects and interrelations among the groups. Using t-test, the pre and post-training performance was analyzed in each group. The results of the study indicate, 1. After training, the vertical jump of the 10cm and 20cm groups both progressed by 10.33% and 13.9% respectively with no significant differences between. But the training and control group differed significantly. 2. In the standing long jump, post-training improvements in the 10cm and 20cm training groups advanced by 5.07% and 6.60% respectively, showing a significant difference from pre-training. These increases also differed significantly from the control group. The 20cm training group did not differ significantly from the 10cm training group, though its degree of progress was higher. 3. In the 30 meter sprint, the control group, the 10cm training group and the 20cm group enhanced by 0.38%,1.88%,and 3.88% respectively. However, only the 20cm group differed significantly and there was no apparent interrelation among the groups. In conclusion, ten weeks of plyometric training can effectively improve the vertical power and horizontal power in six grade male track athletes. To improve one’s speed, the height of the box should be carefully adjusted to at least 20cm. Further research will need to be conducted to examine the relationship between the height of the box and the effectiveness of the training. none 陳樹屏 學位論文 ; thesis 65 zh-TW
