Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 語文教育學系教學碩士班 === 94 === The “Little Sparrow” is an annual children’s literature publication issued by the Government of Tainan County, collecting the awarded works from the competitions by the elementary school teachers and students within the county. Children’s poetry is full of delicacy and beauty, and thus playing a vital role in children’s literature, with abundant imagination, creation and affection from children. Therefore, it is widely appreciated by creators and readers. In “Little Sparrow”, children’s poetry accounts for most of its spaces. This study applied the Content Analysis Method, taking the 6th through 19th volumes of “Little Sparrow” as the content to be analyzed and among which, the researcher chose 66 pieces of children’s poetry works from the teachers and 168 from the students, accounting for a total of 234 pieces of children’s poetry as the research subjects. The researcher attempted to conduct content analysis and discussion of the teachers’ and children’s works respectively from the themes, rhetoric, imagery and emotions and expected to explore the features and values of their works. This study is divided into seven chapters: Chapter 1, the Introduction, describing the research motivations, purposes of the study, methodology and steps, research area and limitations and literature review. In Chapter 2, “Exploration on The Theory of Children’s Poetry”, the meanings, characteristics, types, writing techniques of children’s poetry were discussed individually. Chapter 3, “The themes of works in ‘Little Sparrow’”, starts from the themes to analyze the types and features of the themes. Apart from illustrating the implication of rhetoric, Chapter 4, “The Rhetoric of the Children’s Poetry in ‘Little Sparrow’” mainly focuses on the representation of rhetorical skills in those works, analyzing how the teachers and children have utilized their rhetoric skills to understand the impacts that rhetoric has on children’s poetry. The fifth chapter, “The Imagery of the Children’s Poetry in ‘Little Sparrow’”, is based on the theories of imagery, referring to eight methods that contribute to the clear emergence of imagery listed in Yuon-wu Huang’s Discussion of the Emergence of Imagery in “Designing Chinese Poetry” and therefore analyzes and discusses the works, understanding how the imagery has presented and the differences in the way the teachers and students present the imagery. In Chapter 6, “The Emotions of the Children’s Poetry in ‘Little Sparrow’”, the emotional types encompassed in the works were analyzed and induced and how the emotions have been presented was discussed. The last chapter, “Conclusion and Suggestion”, sets out from the perspective of children’s poetry creation, and discusses the features “Little Sparrow” has displayed so as to induce the research value of the children’s poetry of “Little Sparrow”. Finally, the expectations and suggestions after the study was conducted are provided.
