碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育經營與管理研究所 === 94 === ABSTRACT Kaohsiung Man Swimming Team has won eight championships in Taiwan Athletic Games during 1991~1998. Lin, Chi-Chian even won the best record and obtained Taiwanese participation for the Olympic Games. Meanwhile, since the administrative goal “An Ocean City” was implemented in 1998, the city government has popularized enthusiastically the swimming activities. Therefore, this became the author’s motive of this study. The research aims on the swimming development in schools and societies in the Kaohsiung City, and adopts the historical research, documental analytic approach, and interviews. The following has been gained and discovered: 1.The aspect of school’s swimming development Swimming was not the core requirement course in most of the public schools; it was not often being paid much attention. Most of the schools swimming pools and equipments were humble and were left by the Japanese before 1984. Between 1984~2004, there were fourteen new swimming pools been set up, apparently that was not enough. The schools with swimming pools implements were also set up the swimming classes which were bringing the students into force and training. After 1998, swimming were being expressed in a multiple and comprehensive progress; the most important person for advocating the development was Shu, Dong-Huo. 2.The aspect of swimming development within society There were six organizations, including Kaohsiung Physical Education the Swimming Committee, to push forward the swimming development. The early swimming implements were not having the filter system, such as the Navy, Lien-Chin, Chien-Chin, and Lien U Chang swimming pools. After 1997, many of the public and private swimming pools were been set up, which provided a great swimming environment for the exercise development. The early swimming development was basically outstanding with the military swimming teams, Chien-Chin, and Lien You Chang swimming teams. In 1974, the Shu’s team members immigrated to Kaohsiung, Chien Chin swimming pools was gradually becoming the busiest place for this exercise development. The essential people to promote the exercise were Lee Dun-Han, Fu Pei-Xiun, and Lee Dong-Xing. Among with these people, Lee, Dong-Xing occupied the most important place on the popularization of the swimming development in Kaohsiung City. Under the circumstances of Lee’s leading, the man swimming team has set up the records of the 16th championship and the second-place on the 2nd Taiwanese Athletes Game.
