Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 設計研究所 === 94 === Digital images bring a great deal of information and convenience for the life surely, but excessive appliance of images tends to cause tiredness. Visual communication designers are restlessly working on ways to acquire attraction for viewers and to reach the purpose of persuasion. Minimalism uses its particular visual language, returning back to the essence of things; simple and direct. Based on the same concept, silhouette characterizes things by simple outline and diagrams with background apparently contrasted. This research focuses on the application of silhouette images, investigating the source and the expression of silhouette images on visual communication design. The author not only takes the theories about shadow for literal review, but also surveys the visual psychology, history of art and design to understand the history background, cultural value of silhouette. In the study, comparison analysis is used to demonstrate and emphasize the characteristic/development and importance of the silhouette image in the visual communication design. Based on designer Chun Tien Den, this research combines digital images and silhouette images to develop a series of posters with themes about natural symbiosis. We branches out three topics in the creation: selection of objects, point of views and directions. Since the application of silhouette pictures in visual communication design is increasing nowadays, the researcher tries to summarize the theories and practices, hopes to provide more choices and possibilities on visual language for designers.
