| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 食品科學系 === 94 === A web-based data management and mobile communication system for pre-market seafood quality inspection at the fish auction market level was developed. The system includes two parts: a web-based database and a PDA-based mobile communication system. The web-based data management system was developed by PHP and integrated with PostgreSQL database. The mobile communication system was developed on a PDA phone by Visual Basic.Net.
Under the web-based operation, the inspectors working in the fish market elsewhere, need to download the working forms daily, print them, and record the testing results on site, and key in the results to the web-site e-forms to complete the task. While with the aid of the mobile system, inspectors only need to carry a PDA phone with all the necessary forms in it, and record the test results. The PDA base system will allow the test results to be sent through either synchronized to PC and upload to the website, a wireless network, or GPRS when under off-line condition. Thus, the inspectors shall deliver information more effectively even under non-internet connection. The refined system will overcome the web-base system problems such as, time delay, records storage and damage concerns, and not working in a real-time reporting operation.
Finally, the man-made factors influence normal operation of the system shall be discussed, which is possible to affect the execution of system. Furthermore, the research will provide some solution and suggestion to the government organizations or the system manager as a reference.
