The whole contents were divided into six chapters. Chapter one is instruction, explains research motive and the purpose of study. In recent years the government vigorously promoted training policy of talented person - “A child has one kind of musical instrument; a school has a music mass organization.” The result causes population increase that student play musical instrument in elementary school. Researcher has concentrated the string orchestra teaching in elementary school for many years. Researcher tries to provide the related information of string orchestra training by discussing this paper. That can help the promotion and development of the string education in elementary school. This research uses the literature analytic method and record of the practice training. Take the student in Yi-lan string orchestra as object of study in period of 89~94 school year. Studies adopt the actual training situation and analysis induction literature material as the method and step of this research. Chapter two is focus on four stages that are discussing instrumental ensemble training. According to study successively order, step by step from easy to difficult to begin the practice research. The result demonstrates that the instructor needs the full understanding to the course content, and he should change teaching strategy by different situation at the right moment. Besides, providing space that students perform may display individual potential. In chapter three, the instructor must have ability of three aspects including individual special characteristic, music knowledge and teaching skill. According to a research of United States, they found that individual special characteristic of the conductor is the most important ability for teaching string orchestra. Furthermore, researcher also found that conductor’s individual special characteristic has the decisive influence to the whole performance in string orchestra. Similarly, the conductor who has music knowledge and teaching skill are the important factors for promoting degree. String programs in chapter four, researcher reorganized the collection material of score; these programs were researcher’s teaching experience and collection from music competition. They classify into primary, intermediate and senior programs. Surely, the standard of choosing programs should be considered first by the levels of students. Music activity arrangement in chapter five describing concert, music camp and music competition. It increases the challenge and interesting on learning. The research found that school administrative unit's coordination and the perfect guardian supporters' association organizes could have positive function to music activities. In the conclusion, researcher will provides concrete proposal and view for ensemble training of string orchestra in elementary school.
