Through the tests of the making of Jun-glaze, this essay will probe into the factors involved in the colors of Jun-glaze and the connections between them. We hope, through the systematical discussions in this essay, to uncover the secret of Jun-glaze.
This essay mainly focuses on the tests of the making of Jun-glaze and its creation. Therefore, in terms of this essay, the theories are as importation as the practices. Based on the content of this essay, it can be divided into three parts: the introduction of Jun-glaze, tests of its making and the application of the characteristics of Jun-glaze in creation.
The introduction and chapter one explain the purpose of this study and the study methods. Here we will define the range and limitations of Jun-glaze, hoping them to be integrated with the later creation.
In chapter two, we will focus on the history of Jun-glaze and the articles discussing its characteristics.
In chapter three, we will discuss the tests of the making of Jun-glaze, beginning with the material combinations, the factors involved in the colors of Jun-glaze, the firing conditions and the tests. We will, then, analyze the test results, file the proper recipes for further references in later creations.
In chapter four the discussion of Jun-glaze creations, we will put together the characteristics of Jun-glaze, the viewpoints of the potters and the works, and look further into individual creation, its content and the ideas of the potters. As we analyze the works of potters, we will probe into the content, formation, techniques applied in one work and the value and power it holds.
In chapter five the conclusion of this study, we will review the making of one work and the result of its creation. As we review the data, we can infer some theories to be used as references to the study and creation of Jun-glaze. We hope, by doing so, to open up a wider field for the creation of Jun-glaze.
