In addition a lot of regional and global supranational organizations are organized. In order to integrate with the international community, Taiwan spent twelve-year times to join WTO in 2002. Since then the agriculture of Taiwan has exposed to intensified agricultural competition in the world. Agricultural industries were regarded as the development foundation in the past. However, the traditional agricultural areas faced various threats of population, farmland loses and poverty. Above all, the agriculture of Taiwan faces pressures of the Agreement on Agriculture outside and social economic structure inside nowadays specially after the negotiation of WTO. This research is based on the state theory to discuss the role of the state in the structural transition of rural areas. WTO. It also investigates the change of the endogenous system under the Agreement on Agriculture. The policy implication is also discussed.
