碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 兒童文學研究所 === 95 === The Writing of Taiwanese Delicacies in Young Adult Novels --A Case Study of Chiu Ko Award-winning Novels Ma, Li-Chun The Graduate Institute of Children’s Literature, National Taitung University Abstract This study focused on the writing of Taiwanese delicacies in novels that received “Chiu Ko Modern Children’s Literature Award” to analyze the delicacies described in these award-winning novels and investigate the meanings in the text. This study was composed of seven chapters. The first chapter was an introduction. The second chapter analyzed the texts that involved the writing of delicacies and classified these delicacies by four major ethnic groups in Taiwan, namely aborigine, Taiwanese, Hakka, and Chinese Mainlander. The third, fourth, fifth, and sixth chapters probed into the contents and meanings of delicacies of the four ethnic groups, respectively. A conclusion was provided in the seventh chapter. It was discovered that "affection", encompassing kinship affection and nostalgic affection, was the main tone of the writing of delicacies in young adult novels. Delicacies involving kinship affection were especially influential to the ambiance of the storyline. Ethnic delicacies featured cultural meanings and symbolic meanings. From the award-winning works, the change in the trend of diet in recent years could also be discovered. The creators of young adult novels could pay attention to related writing subjects.
