A convenience sample was used. One hundred sixty patients were recruited, either admitted at day center and OPD from medical center of major hospital, in northern Taiwan.The structured questionnaire was used to collect data. Measurement instruments were as follows :(1) Psychiatric symptoms Rating Scale (2) World Health Organization Quality of Life-Brief (3) devaluation-discrimination Scale (4) Mastery Scale (5) Social Support Questionnaires. Data were analyzed by using SPSS 12.0 software. The major findings of the study were as follows (1) using the WHOQOL-BREF the mean score of overall quality of life was 49.13 out of 80. in the domain of Physical health field got the highest score (12.69), was the most satisfied part on QOL, secondly was the environment (12.66), the third was the social relations(12.18), the psychological was the most dissatisfied field (11.6). (2) The overall quality of life was the most satisfied part on the “Transportation”, secondly was “Health Care Delivery Systems”. The most dissatisfied field of psychological was “enjoyment of life”, secondly was “to concentrate one’s attention”. (3) The overall stigma the mean score was 31.96 out 48. The mastery the mean score was 17.16 out 28. The overall social support the mean score was 26.85 out 36. (4) Stigma and quality of life was the positively correlated. Mastery, social support and quality of life were the negatively correlated. (5) The most important predictive variables for the quality of life were the sex, education, positively psychiatric symptoms, negatively psychiatric symptoms, psychiatric symptoms, stigma, mastery, social support in schizophrenia. (6) The best predictive variables for the quality of life was the mastery, and the social support was the secondly predictive.
