Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 管理研究所 === 94 === International air freight transportation plays an important function in the global economic activities; the air cargo traffic has increased steadily in Taiwan in recent years. This trend will continue over the next 20 years as well, especially, the greatest air freight market growth is expected in those markets linked to Asia, and it will share more than half of the worldwide air cargo traffic. Due to the prosperous development of hi-tech industries in Taiwan, the demand of air cargo transportation is more concerns in speed, safety, and satisfaction, to support customers getting better competitive advantages in global markets. How to handle the numerous valuable goods to be delivered in time, and packing pooled shipments into a container to maximize the space utilization are the objectives of this research. In this study, related the air freight constraints, develops a decision making model for pack rectangular boxes onto a cargo pallet more easily, also could save packing operation time and labor cost. As the results, the utilization outcomes compare well both with computational algorithm and shipping company from the literature.
