| Summary: | 碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 管理碩士在職專班 === 94 === Hospitals are contracting out their services due to under this competitive and low profit margin environment within the health care market. Due to that, selecting the right contractor in serving them is vital to the hospital management. If the contractor can make use of the uniqueness segment of the market, understand hospital’s attitude towards contractor and the company’s marketing approach, it will be an advantage for contractor in operating their business.
Through investigation, interviews with specialists, we found that:
Firstly, contractor selection criteria for medium to large size hospitals in Taiwan are: contractor’s expertise and capability; contracting experience of the hospital; enterprise uniqueness of the contractor; current advantage of the contractor; and the comment from Industry of the contractor.
Secondly, evaluation criteria for hospital in selecting a contractor are: hospital type; experience in changing contractor; price determination; hospital ownership etc…all the above can affect the hospital decision making.
Thirdly, selecting criteria of the hospital will affect the performance of the contractor. Past contracting experience of the hospital, enterprise uniqueness and the comment from the Industry of the contractor will affect the result of the contracting exercises.
