Description
Summary:碩士 === 世新大學 === 社會心理學研究所(含碩專班) === 94 === The main purpose of this study was to explain the generational differences of work values and social values, and to explore the relationship between work values and social values. To collect empirical data ,Work Values Scale and Social Values Scale were administered to 203 junior high school teachers as samples. Data obtained in this study were analyzed by factor analysis, one-way analysis of variance, correlation, and regression. The main findings were as follows: 1.Work values and social values are varied in different population backgrounds. 2.Concerning "Work end values", Baby Boomers have respect for "fame and wealth" but not for "independence, creation and growth" nor "ambition". On the contrary, X-ers have respect for "independence, creation and growth", but not for "fame and wealth"; "New Poverty Generation" have more respect for "ambition." 3.Concerning "work mean values", Baby Boomers care nothing about "individual accommodation"; X-ers have respect for "traditional ethics" and "individual accommodation", but not for"steady and carefulness";"New Poverty Generation" has respect for "steady and carefulness" and "individual accommodation", but not for "traditional ethics." 4.Concerning social values, there is no generational difference in "traditionality". However, X-ers and"New Poverty Generation" have shown more"esteem for emotions" of "modernity" than Baby Boomers. 5.Work values and social values are significantly associated with each other. Work values of Baby Boomers are influenced by "traditionality, however, work values of X-ers and "New Poverty Generation" are influenced by "traditionality" and "modernity." The results suggest that paying more attention on social values in the research of work values is necessary. Suggestions for increasing samples and variables, and also the comparison about work values with people in different area and job in future studies were proposed.
