The related parameters such as the length and width of substrate, the length of ground plane metal, the included angle and asymmetric edge of antenna radiator are analyzed in this thesis. Besides, antenna radiation gain affected by the above parameters is also concerned and observed. The summarized results are applied and used to fabricate wide band antenna on FR4 and RT/duroid 5880 substrate. To verify their validness, anechoic chamber test is performed. Measurement techniques for microstrip antennas are adopted. More detail procedures are specified in this thesis. Four planar UWB triangular monopole antennas that operate from 3.1GHz to 5GHz and 6GHz to 10.6GHz are proposed in this thesis. The configurations of the four antennas are based on the planar monopole antenna. All of them have characteristics of wide frequency band, omni-directional pattern, high gain, and ease of fabrication. In this work, electromagnetic simulation software called Ansoft HFSS is used to simulate and analyze antenna efficiency and performance. Finally, those simulation and experiment data is sorted and compared by using numerical software Matlab.
