Taiwan has become one of the four biggest export nations and the fifth biggest manufacturing country since 2004; the sales amount has even exceed one thousand brilliant NT dollars in 2005. The reason why Taiwan Machine Tool Industry has such competition ability is due to the cooperative network system of “professional cooperation” and “flexible compensation”. The purpose of this research is to study the production development capability-building process of Professional Module-Suppliers of Taiwan Machine Tool Industry. By case study of the production development capability of six Professional Module-Suppliers, we can understand from this dynamic process the standard forms of production development capability-building of Professional Module-Suppliers of Taiwan Machine Tool Industry. We get five conclusions from this research: 1. There are at least four ways of production development capability-building patterns for Professional Module-Suppliers. a. They worked as detail-controlled parts manufactory and upgrade to black box parts manufactory. The technique was promoted by the design chart provided by Assemblier. b. The factory was originally machining plant. Through taking apart and copy to get the design charts, the factory gradually grows. If there is trouble in the process of copy, the factory will conquer and try to find out the answer by itself; the technique is upgrade at the same time. c. This kind is special, because the founder was employed in the governmental corporation. The same technique was used in the new factory, also the same operation procedure is used, which make the plant a proximate black box parts manufactory once it is founded. d. The plant was originally manufacturing parts for other business. Then, it begins the business of machine tool. It utilized the thought for other business to enter machine tool business, which make it a proximate black box parts manufactory. 2. The founder is the soul in the process of capability-building. 3. In the process of capability improvements, it is important to develop together with the Assembliers. 4. Modular is an important thought in the process of production development. 5. Precision manufacturing is still the core of the production manufacturing capability.
