The clamping tools are classified according to their moving of the pliers jaw and increase force of the mechanisms. This research discusses the effects of the moving of the pliers jaw and analyzes the characteristics and differences of the increase force of the mechanisms. According to the publishing dates and areas, it points out the development tendency of the clamping tools, and provides excellent references to the design of future clamping tools. This research deals with the development of a parallel clamping tool to clamp various type and size terminal with changed jaw die. The new design utilizes mechanical synthesize to generate 2 four-bar linkages (inverse slider crank/ slider crank) and the mechanisms can provide force-saving operation to the user when it moves to toggle position. In order to keep the excellent clamping result, the pliers mouth must be similar parallel motion/ parallel motion to closed. Furthermore adding the ratchet stopper device and the adjustable device with non-concentric pin, it also can increase clamping performance.
