Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 製造科技研究所 === 94 === Micro-holes are widely used in various industrial fields such as inkjet printer heads, diesel engine nozzles, spinning nozzles. Considering varieties of materials, some machining methods such as drilling, EDM, LBM, WJM could be selected to fabricate tiny small holes. Micro mechanical drilling is one of the technologies widely used to drill micro holes on stainless steel because micro mechanical drilling is easier to get a good roundness and straightness hole in a short machining time. However, some parameters such as feeding rate, rotation speed and drilling tools life are not clear.
In this paper, we will investigate and discuss burr formation, tool feeding rate and rotation speed of micro mechanical drilling on stainless steel 304. Step-feed drilling with full in-process retraction is effective to avoid the drill tool fracture inside the micro hole. The experimental results reveal that the diameter of inlets and outlets are approximately ψ106μm, ψ103μm respectively. The burr width in one side is approximately 7μm with a micro drilling tool in diameter of 100μm. The machining time is 150s for one micro-hole drilling. In order to fabricate micro holes more precisely, we used micro Pulse-ECM to remove the burr. The experimental results show that the burr can be remove more effectively when the current and pulse duration are 0.3A, 10μs, respectively.
