Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立教育大學 === 音樂藝術研究所 === 94 === The purposes of this study were to examine the development of music concept of sixth graders while using concept mapping in music appreciation instruction and to investigate their viewpoints and attitude toward use of concept mapping in this process. The samples were 34 sixth-grade students in Taipei County. This study was taken 10 weeks. The instruments of this study included cooperative music concept maps, assessing concept mapping criteria, lesson plans designed by the researchers, and interviews. Video tapping of teaching, interviewing, and field notes by the researcher were used to collect data. NVIVO was used to analyze the collected data. The findings for this study as follows: (1) Students made great progress in the development of conceptual levels and revealed continuously increase an amount of their produced concept and precise use of concept. (2)In order to properly identify,students’ precise music concept from mythic, mistakenly-located or wrong concept,besides analyzing the content of their concept maps, multi-dimension approaches may be recommended to examine the appropriateness of students’ concept revealed in their presentations and group interviews. (3) Students reported that the use of cooperative concept mapping and peer interaction in this process could enhance their music concept learning and clarify their vague understanding of music concept. Based on these findings, several suggestions were proposed toward music educators, researchers, educational administration and teacher training institutes.
