Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立教育大學 === 教育行政與評鑑研究所 === 94 === A Study of Life Adjustment of Retired Teachers of Elementary School in Taipei City Abstract The study employs a qualitative research method to explore the life adjustment of retired elementary school teachers, taking the cases in Taipei City as examples. The participants are five elementary school teachers who have taken different appointments before retirement. In-depth interview, a qualitative research method, is used in data collecting. The meaningful units and documents are rearranged through discussion and induction and then transcribed into a written script. The study discovers the followings: 1.The process of psychological adjustment after retirement can be divided into three stages: feel as relieved, unaccommodated, and self-confident. 2.The retired teachers paid much attention to keep in health during their life adjustment. 3.During the process of life adjustment, there is a close relationship between them and their families. 4.They are willing to provide personal experiences, and approved of their self-value as being a volunteer. 5.They gained adjustment from activities. 6.All of them can face the after-retirement lives with ease. 7.They can arrange activities well and make lives colorful. 8.They are satisfied with current after-retirement life. 9.They cherish friendships with old friends and colleagues. 10.During the process of life adjustment, they hope to live with dignity. Finally, this study offers some suggestions for the government and the elementary schools, the retired teachers, and the future study.
