There are 54 participants (Experimental:29 , Control:25 ) in this program, who are the 4th, 5th and 6th grade obese students. Their body-mass index (BMI) are higher than the standard. Before the experiment starts, the two groups have been tested by the test of homogeneity. In the experiment, the experiment group goes with jogging as well as dodge ball activity intervention; the control group doesn’t have any training. This study analyzes the differences among the individual variables based on t-test; the significant difference is <.05 After the 8-week dodge ball activity intervention, the experiment group reaches the significant differences both in fitness and physical self-concept. In terms of the fitness, the flexibility, endurance of muscle , explosive strength and cardio-pulmonary endurance make progress. So do endurance, power and extremity power of the physical self-concept.(p<.05)However the control group without any training doesn’t reach the significant difference on the index of fitness and physical self-concept(p>.05)The conclusion of this study expresses that the dodge ball activity intervention improves the fitness and physical self-concept of the obese children . There is positive influence on the fitness and the physical self-concept. Lin, Kuo-Jui 林國瑞 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 86 zh-TW
