However, video of multimedia service will be harmfully influenced from high variation of usable bandwidth and lack of QoS guarantee over widespread Internet and wireless network. Besides, transmission of multimedia over wireless environment is applied extensively in recent years. In order to obtain a low cost, low power consumption and small sized digital home processing center, especially for multimedia applications, we use a scalable wallet-size cluster computing system to develop image compression materials treatment of H.264 in this thesis. The proposed system uses the low cost, low power consumption and small sized microprocessors as computing nodes to form a cluster system to increase the computing power and to accelerate the H.264 video processing. We analyze the encoder scheme of H.264 to each node of the cluster system for processing in parallel. To run multimedia applications in the cluster system, an efficient real time video processing is achieved.
