Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 工業工程與管理研究所碩士班 === 94 === Enterprises continuously accumulate knowledge as time goes by. The knowledge will not help enhance work efficiency and sometimes even make problems, if they are not well organized/managed and properly used. There is an extreme competition in the upstream petrochemical industry in Taiwan. The Formosa Plastics Group started to build and operate, as the first time, oil refinery since last decade. The oil refining process involves high temperature/high pressure services and various corrosion problems, and most of the key process equipment are imported from the US or European countries and installed/commissioned under assistance of the OEMs. Thus, how to well manage the knowledge acquired from the OEMs becomes very important and can be the key factor to properly operate the equipment. This case study focuses on knowledge acquisition, development, storage and transfer by using questionnaire and interview to understand the current status of implementation of knowledge management in the Formosa Petrochemical Corporation Maintenance Center. The study also introduces some practical measures from references to form a guideline of knowledge management in the future. The result of this study shows that (a)User-friendly tool for searching knowledge on a common platform (b)Consolidate interaction between maintenance dept, operation dept and equipment/service providers (c)Enhance the acquisition of external knowledge (d)Diversify the knowledge base (e)Encourage new ideas from employees (f)Improvement of leadership (g)Effective reward and assessment on employees , will be the direction to implement knowledge management.
