Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 通訊工程學系 === 94 === Digital home has became one of the most popular products on the market recently, and several business organizations have moved to this area in hoping to provide their customers easier and enjoyable means for digital audio/video access applications. In fact, this field not only influenced the research and development directions, but also created several business opportunities in the home entertainments. This study uses the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) network technique to facilitate the consumer electronic products for communications where no setup procedures are required and users can use and control these devices directly as they are connected to the network. All of the connected devices follow the interoperability standards of digital home set by the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) to make the multimedia platform, allowing users to have easier access for the audio and video they wish to enjoy. An actual UPnP network is established in this thesis including the Digital Media Servers (DMSs) based on the Linux operating system for providing the multimedia audio and video contents and the Digital Media Players (DMPs) for identifying and playing the contents. Some performance evaluations are performed to ensure the availability of the UPnP network in the wireless LAN environment.
