This device employs a hydraulic pressure system to drive the fin of stabilizer. When a ship occurs rolling in the transverse direction, a righting moment of force opposite to the rolling direction is produced by turning around a corresponding angle of attack between the fin and fluids. Now the stabilizer fin has been extensively applied in various ships. In order to raise the operating performance for some very bad sea situations, some device such as ballast, bilge keels, anti-rolling tank, the stabilizer fin and so forth are employed to restrain the rolling motion of the ship. The function of stabilizer fin is most noticeable for rolling reduction, Meanwhile the righting ability depends on the size of the area, the shape, and the rotation angle of the stabilizer fin. In this study, the robust design for the parameters of the stabilizer fin was studied by using the Design of Experiments (DOE) and the condition of optimal design has been found out for various ships, sea conditions and speeds. 吳聖儒 周錫明 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 82 zh-TW
