Symptoms and signs of systemic disease are often first noted in the feet. Approximately 75% to 80% of the elderly population exhibits pathologic conditions of the foot. Foot disease is a leading cause of elderly disability, so foot care in the elderly is very important. About the causes of foot diseases, unfit footwear causes the foot deformation, move disability and foot pathologic. Therefore, this study will confer foot deformation of the elderly to design footwear for foot care. This study designs footwear of the elderly for foot care by user-centered ergonomics model, User-Tool-Task model, which can analyze the relationship of the Elderly-Footwear-Move. Finally, this study will design the real elder’s footwear by User-Tool-Task model. This study will understand the need for footwear by the questionnire and understand foot deformation of the elderly by 3D foot scanner experiment. According to the result of the questionnire and 3D foot diagnosis of the elderly, this study came out the design standard and designed the footwear for the elderly. Finally, the elder’s footwear designed using User-Tool-Task model conformed to appropriate size, easy wear, colors plan and safety of the design standard. According to the evalution result of the experts and the elderly, the elder’s footwear conforms to vamp design, buckle way, easy wear, stability and safety design. This study also revised User-Tool-Task design model that applied to other product. This design model can shift design issues to user-centered design and practical product design.
