| Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 教育專業發展研究所 === 95 === The first purpose of this study was to explore parenting style, self-identity and behavioral adjustment in mix marriage families. The second purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among parenting style, self-identity and behavioral adjustment. The third purpose of this study was to examine how parenting predicted children self-identity and behavioral adjustment, and how children self-identity predicted behavioral adjustment.
Three hundred thirty-four students, third to sixth graders, whose mothers with different nationalities were for the object of this study. The instruments for this study were Parenting Style Questionnaire, Self-Identity Questionnaire and Behavioral Adjustment Questionnaire. The results clearly showed:
1.There was no significant difference in genders in mix marriage parenting style and children self-identity. There was only significant difference in coping in behavioral adjustment.
2.There were significant differences in parenting style in mix marriage depending on the graders of children. There were significant differences in relational identity and social identity. However, there was no significant difference in personal identity and collective identity. Besides, there was only significant difference in personal relationships.
3.There were significant differences in authoritarian parenting style, authoritative parenting style and indifferent- uninvolved parenting style depending on mothers’ nationalities but there was no difference in permissive parenting style.
4.There was no significant difference in self-identity for mothers’ different nationalities. In behavioral adjustment, there was only significant difference in achievement.
5.There were significantly positive correlations among authoritarian parenting style, authoritative parenting style and behavioral adjustment. Besides there were positive correlations between self-identity and behavioral adjustment in mixed marriage family.
6.Parenting style could significantly predicted self-identity and behavioral adjustment in mixed marriage. Also self-identity could significantly predicted behavioral adjustment.
