Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 經營管理碩士在職專班 === 95 === This study targets RAID controller industry to analyze its unique core competence. In addition, to provide theoretical, practical and executable viewpoints of "more R&D expenditure and more patent outputs will improve managing performance", this study applies commonly used indices, R&D expenditure and number of patents, to evaluate its performance. This research covers the analysis from a span of 8 years, from 1998 to 2005: 1.Use qualitative analysis by Michael Porter’s Five Strategic Forces to conclude that Taiwanese RAID controller industry has the features of low threats from new comers, difficult to be replaced by alternative products, high conversion cost and high entering barrier; total solution provision and patents of IP innovations are the two keys for Taiwan companies to compete in the world market. 2.Use quantitative analysis by Simple Regression Analysis on actual data showing that there exists a significant positive relationship between R&D expenditure and revenue; positive between R&D expenditure and patent output and patent output and revenue.
