Description
Summary:碩士 === 佛光大學 === 社會教育學研究所 === 95 === The purpose of this research is to investigate the current state of foreign spouses in Southeast Asia who have children with special needs, specifically in regard to their experience of social resources, society, politics, medical treatment and education, as well as how they care for their children. This research was conducted using an interview method for data collection. Eight research participants were selected after examination, and their interview data was analyzed. The results of this research can be summarized in the following points: 1. The key issue is to determine what kind of difficulties the children with special needs have so they can be addressed. 2. Many of the translations of information regarding the special needs children are difficult for the interviewed women to understand, so that the help of public health workers is required. 3. Many of the interviewed women are in touch with their children’s teachers frequently, and truly trust and depend on them. 4. Many of the interviewed women are the primary caregivers for the special needs children. Many of them are conscious of their child’s disease early, and as a result they tend to directly confront the situation and actively undertake primary treatments for their children. After analyzing the results, the researchers offer the following suggestions for society, politics, medical treatment, education as they impact foreign spouses: 1. The Institute of Social Welfare should offer a professional lecture course in which foreign spouses can enroll. 2. When foreign spouses take part in a professional lecture course, the Institute should assist in the care of their children. 3. The foreign spouses should play an active role in the process of their children’s education. 4. The foreign spouses should share housework with other family members equally.
