Most of these immigrants are young women and come from East-South Asia and China. They usually face strong stress in adapting to immigration life and being pregnant immediately after marriage. Adequacy health service can help them to maintain good healthy status and adapt to new life. This study is the first one to analyze immigrant women health service utilization by using National Health Insurance data, and the results can help us to know more about the new ethnic group in Taiwan. Method:The data was from 2003 National Health Insurance. We selected 20~35 aged non-citizen female spouse with health insurance, and analyzed their health service utilization and related factors by using poisson regression and logistic regression . The health service utilization included outpatient visits of western medicine and Chinese medicine、inpatient services and cervical smear test . Result:Foreign spouse has lower odds ratio than Mainland China spouse in all health service. And although Mainland China spouse had higher health service utilization, but they was still under the national average. Chronic disease、pregnancy and more children will increase their western medicine use and cervical smear test, but pregnancy will decrease outpatient visits of Chinese medicine. Economy and urbanization level didn’t affect their medical use.Discussion:Mainland China spouse has the advantage of language, and has higher health service utilization than foreign spouse. But, both of their medical use is still very lower than national average. Economy is not the major reason to affect their health service utilization under the National Health Insurance. If the government want to improve this immigrant group medical use, they should pay more attention to their different culture and family background、ability of independence and social capital . 陳富莉 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 138 zh-TW
