Most of businesses in Taiwan grew with the development of industry structure from OEM to ODM to OBM. This thesis studies the core competence, which a business must own at different growing stages. Through analysis from profound interviews and data collections, the study concludes that core competence is different when growing stages are different; actions, which form core competence, are different when core competence is different. In order to reach the purpose of business continuity, the study makes four suggestions for new business reference as follows: 1.A new business must identify its growing stage and the core competence of this stage. 2.A business must develop new core competence when it grows to a new stage. 3.A business must have multi-action to set up its core competence. 4.Own brand is not built in one day; every step leaves its print.
