This theses take “Young Shun Jui” as the main basis, the first sentence “My life is finite, but there is no limit to knowledge.” explained human's life as limited while knowledge is not. By limited life pursuing infinite knowledge, we will drift into danger.“ Do not practice what is good with any thought of fame, nor of what is evil with any approximation to the punishment, accordance with the middle course” the way of “regimen” require us to forget good and evil, complies with the natural principle and to rely on “middle course” to handle matters. Zhuang zi used five stories in “Young Shun Jui” to elaborate his idea of life-cultivation. “The chef who butchers the ox” explains how the human's heart and spirit comply with nature in the gigantic world and protects our life at ease. “Kung Wen Hsuan to see Yu Shih” explains the spirit in complete is more important than the body that is not, do not injury spirit for the change of body. "The pheasant" explains the importance of free spirit, spiritual freedom is wealth beyond compare, the highly free spirit is in harmony with principle of the way of nature. “Chin Shih mourning Lao Tan” explains live and death as a natural link reveals Zhuang zi natural attitude toward “Quiet acquiescence in what happens at its proper time, and quietly submitting (to its ceasing)”. “The firewood has burned out but the fire continued” is the summary of “Young Shun Jui”, which explains who are able in regimen care less for the destruction of body, what more important is the immortality and continuity of spirit. Beside “spirit-cultivation”, “heartless”, “useless”, “simplify mind and forgone in meditate” was also Zhuang zi's idea of life-cultivation. Zhuang zi believes that “nourishing spirit” is more important compared to “nourishing form”, “spirit” was what Zhuang zi emphasized on life-cultivation. Zhuang zi explains the method and the principle of life-cultivation through the story of “Young Shun Jui”, “Te Chung Fu” and “Ta Sheng”. Besides “nourishing spirit” as the key point of Zhuang zi's idea about life-cultivation, others including comply with nature, accepts the arrangement of reality. Only than can human protect life and maintains life-cultivation.
