Description
Summary:碩士 === 華梵大學 === 工業設計系碩士班 === 95 === In this study, the classic chair design is explored. The art and design movements at different periods of time and the development of materials, machining techniques that caused change in chair design were first discussed. Then the content and cognition of “classic chair design” was investigated through expert interview and questionnaire survey. The interview revealed that uniqueness is the major factor of classic design. A further analysis was made on the influence of the continual deployment of form treatments of classic chair design. When there exists similarity between chair form features, observers will have similar image cognition and style perceptions. On the contrary, when differences are found in form features, the observers will have different image cognition and style perceptions. Based upon the semantic differential method, the relationships between styles of classic chair design and design factor levels were explored by factor analysis, quantification type I analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that classic chair design features a unique chair back; a free curvature is used to replace the traditional rectangular style. In terms of the arm rest, a special style or without arm rest design is adopted. A cross-paw or three-leg style is another feature of classic chair design. For texture, quality metallic and plastic materials are popular. In terms of chair colors, instead of all-wood colors, a combined pattern such as two colors is suggested. Moreover, the results of regression analysis demonstrated that unique and streamline images have positive relationships with user’s preferences towards classic chair design. This means that these two images will influence a chair design and will be able to catch user’s eyes. They can be expected to be feature styles of classic chair in the future
