The comparison between actual and forecasted values is defined as performance assessment. In a investment environment, enterprises with good management constitution can usually generate a better rate of return on investment (ROI). Despite the internal and external disturbance investment environment, operational performance will be eventually reflected on the return on equity (ROE). Thus, this study selected one hundred and twenty-three public firms from the electronics industry on Taiwan stock exchange (TSE) and used financial indicators as independent variables and ROE as a dependent variable to derive variables significantly correlated with ROE via comparison and analysis. Six data transformation methods were used to strengthen the correlations between ROE and financial indicators. After an analysis model was constructed based on hierarchical regression, the data collected from semi-conductor companies were used to verify and analyze the proposed model. Residual analysis was used to examine the accuracy of the model.
