Summary: | 碩士 === 義守大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士班 === 95 === IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Medium Access Control (MAC) layer provides a fair access protocol to the shared wireless medium based on Collision Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA). Therefore, MAC protocol is the standard for wireless local area networks, and has also been implemented in many network simulation packages for wireless multi-hop ad hoc networks. However, it is well known that, as some active nodes increases. The performance of IEEE 802.11 MAC throughput decreases, especially when each node always has packet to send. The primary MAC technique of 802.11 is called distributed coordination function (DCF). DCF is CSMA/CA scheme with binary slotted exponential backoff. A new backoff algorithm named EDCI is proposed in this thesis for improving the throughput by embedded into the others algorithms. As time past, real time data stream is more important. Therefore, in this thesis, IEEE 802.11e (QoS) is investigated from some point of view where some parameters (AIFS, CW size and TXOP…etc.) are considered. Different from most previous analytical studies based on the variety parameter setting, in this thesis we construct and analyze the simulation model according to specifications amendment from IEEE the latest IEEE publications. We hope this study can be helpful for the researchers in this area.
